Pacific City Sept 1-10th

Well we made it out to our 1st destination in one piece. Thank you Lord!  The quaint town of Pacific City, Or was very lively when we pulled in late Sat. Sept 1st, as it was Labor Day weekend.  Our first few days were sunny and warmer than we expected (68-72), followed by some cooler, foggier days with wind (58-61).  The boys have enjoyed climbing the enormous sand dune mountain they have and running (Devin) and rolling (Avery) down it. Devin found the first sand dollars of our coastal trip and Farley has worn himself out and been quite content with all his time at the beach.  There are rabbits all around our campground and town area.  It seems 30years ago someone let their pet rabbits go free and well, you know what happened next.  Tues we started a school schedule with the boys and still working on getting settled with timing of things in our new home.  Friday we rented sand boards (the snow board type and a sit down kind for Avery and I) to go down the huge sand dune.  It didn't go so well with my ride down, I bailed pretty hard at a fast speed and got tossed around like a rag doll.  Once up and moving I retired to lay at the bottom of the hill while the boys continued their time, thankful I was not hurt even worse then I was.  Devin and Rick did a few runs of sand boarding and got some onlookers cheering them on. Even got a video camera on them for a travel advertisement.  Ended the night with some pizza and ice cream and some motrin and ice. :)  Setting to leave Sat. morning for Florence, things were delayed due to Rick not getting his work gear from the post office in time.  Cape Kiwanda Rv Resort was full so we moved down the road to Thousand Trails Campground.  God has his timing for all things, so we are thankful for His provisions and for His care.  We will go to another church service here in town tomorrow morning and spend a day checking this place out and see where we end up Monday afternoon. :)  --Jenn
